Social Media: Under new Meta rules, businesses that fall within a sensitive category, such as health and wellness, can no longer send Meta personal information, including mid- and lower-level “funnel data,” like whether consumers have purchased a certain product in the past or added it to their online “cart.”

Programmatic:  72% of marketers are planning to increase programmatic investments in 2025, according to a recent report. Privacy concerns also dominate, with 41% identifying contextual targeting as their primary strategy for navigating shrinking ID coverage and privacy regulations.

Television: Media measurement firm Nielsen will stop selling its stand-alone consumer panel-based TV ratings in the fourth quarter of this year. The panel-only product has for decades served as the standard for measuring U.S. television ratings.
